As technicians remove parts from their trucks to use at the customer’s job, they use a PDA scanner or laptop connected to eTurns to record the removal. At the end of the day, the technician’s laptop or PDA synchronizes with the warehouse PC and eTurns creates suggested transfers based on customer parameters of minimum quantities needed per truck. The parts manager fills or overrides the suggested transfers and stages a bin for each truck. When the trucks return to the warehouse, technicians take their bin of parts, replenish their trucks, and click “receive all” in eTurns to replenish transferred parts. All material removed from truck is assigned to a specific job at a customer.
